This trial document has been designed to give you a brief overview of the product, please note that all sites come with comprehensive training for up to 3 people to ensure that you have a complete understanding of the features that are relevant to your business.
To get you started we will look mainly at teaching you how to find your way around the system. As your knowledge of the product develops and you require a more detailed overview please don't hesitate to contact us.
Now let’s have a look at how the CMS is segmented, you can see the main navigation below.
- Home - This is your site dashboard and is designed to give you quick access to all sections of your site and an overview of its performance.
- Content manger - Create new pages, editing existing ones and add to your site with a number of files including images, video, music, flash and more.
- Email Manager - Compose, edit, send and track any number of email campaigns.
- eCommerce Manager - Receive orders and manage your stock levels through the eCommerce manager.
- Reporting - Track all site activity, bandwidth usage and campaign success through these comprehensive analytical tools.
1. Home - Logging in and the 'dashboard'
How to log in and view your dashboard?
Follow the link to the login screen and enter the details that have been supplied to your by Online Now Website Development Manager. Once you have logged in you will see your site dashboard, this is designed to give you an overview of your sites activity. You can customise your dashboard to only display the reports that you are interested in seeing.
On the left of the dashboard you will see a 'Quick help' and a 'Quick Admin' menu, follow these links to go directly to any internal content items.
Sales pitch
The dashboard allows you to get a clear understanding of your website usage and enables you to measure the success of any marketing campaign. It provides you with a central tool to access all previous, current and future activity and action the most pressing.
Techie talk
You will see that there is a messages section in the top right corner of your dashboard. This is where feature updates, security information and other technical aspects of the product are communicated to you by the Online Now development team. As an Online Now customer "we worry about your site so you don't have to".
Did you know
The 'My Tasks' tool will allow you to create notes that other system administrators will be able to access, this means that you can assign tasks to different members of the website management team.
2. Content manager - Accessing The Control Panel
How to edit content?
This is the the section of of your site where you will access all of the content to edit, delete, move or add new pages. To edit a page simply select it in the site tree on the left of your screen. From here you will be able to access the pages content, structure, SEO settings, analytics and design options.
All pages are editable and follow the same process, below in image 2.2 you can see a page that is ready for editing. Follow the steps below to add to this content item.
1 & 2. To edit an item - Select the content tab and then edit, once it is in edit mode select the text option on the left of the page. This will open the editor and you will be able to start entering content. 3. To preview an item - Select preview to see your content changes before publishing 4. To publish - Select publish to send your copy live
Sales pitch
The content manager is designed to allow non technical people to administer changes to your website and removes the reliance on your website developer. This means that as your business grows and develops over time your website can too.

Did you know
The workspace located on the right of the page allows you to work on content items and come back to them at a later stage. It is a summary of all items that are in edit mode but not published.
3. Email Manager
How to create an email campaign?
The Email Manager allows you to create, edit and send email campaigns to your database. You can segment this database into multiple lists and communicate different messages to different sections. To add an email event select the 'compose and send events' option in the top left menu.
Once you are in this section enter the name and details of the campaign and select add. This campaign will now show in the 'manage existing mail events' tab where you can choose to edit and enter the remaining details of the campaign including the copy of your newsletter or email.
The final step is to select the lists that you wish to communicate this email with, hit save then send.
Sales pitch
The Online Now email campaign manager is a salesman's dream! It gives you full reporting on what contacts have opened an email, contacts that clicked on a link contained within the email and contacts that bounced (image 3.3). This allows you to pull a report on all prospects that clicked on "web design" and follow up with a call.

The Email Manager takes care of all the privacy issues around spam and allowing people to opt out of an email correspondence. The email capture located on all websites will let people subscribe or unsubscribe at any time, automatically removing them from your campaign.
Did you know
There is no limit to the number of newsletter templates that you create in the system. This will allow you to have a different templates to communicate with different segments of your data base such as prospects, partners or customers.
4. eCommerce Manager
How to receive and process an order?
The eCommerce centre allows you to receive orders and process them for shipment and payment. When you land in the eCommerce centre you will see all of your recent orders, once you have selected one you can then choose to mark it as paid and complete (image 4.1). In the orders section you can search for orders by date or status and export all these results for presentation or reporting purposes.

The eCommerce solution allows you to receive a number of payment methods including, credit card, PayPal and off-line payment. The site comes with eWay payment integration fully built in at no additional cost.

A purchases will trigger a number of responses including an alert to the system administrator, a conformation to the customer and the automatic update of the stock level in the built in inventory management system.
5. Reporting
How to access user activity reports?
The Online Now solution comes with a number of powerful reporting tools, here we are going to have a look at user reports. A user report allows you to see what changes have been made by what user, you can have unlimited users in the system.
To access this report select the 'User activity report' link in the top left of the screen. Enter in some specific dates that you are interested in searching across and a user (if desired) and hit Search.

Comprehensive reporting ensures that you have all the tools to assess the return on investment that your site is generating. The Online Now reporting solution gives you comprehensive server based statistics that allows you to look a site usage across any given hour on any given day.
Techie talk
Bandwidth is used to power your site and load it on other people's machines. Bandwidth can be used when you are uploading files into your site and when people are downloading information. The bandwidth usage monitor is located in the reporting section of your site and will allow you to accurately measure and assess your usage levels.
Did you know
The 'Content Activity Report' gives you a full summary of all the pages on your site and the last time that they were updates. One of the key elements in SEO is a fresh up to date site and this report will give you a clear picture of the last time each page was updated.
